Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing

Classic management and creative understanding

On the one hand, decision-makers working in the fashion industry need business, management and marketing skills. Yet they must also show creativity, great understanding and a feel for lifestyle and trends, as well as expertise in journalism and PR in order to plan effective campaigns and successfully develop their brands.

With the Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Marketing, BSP combines scientific core competences in management with an understanding of the fashion industry’s creative and dynamic processes. While the business and management content is taught by the BSP professors and lecturers, guest lecturers working directly for various companies from the fashion industry give students practical insights into the processes of fashion marketing.

The course therefore teaches all the competences required for a future career in fashion marketing:

  • Basic competences in business administration and economics and a behavioural management concept derived from this basis
  • Fashion management, history, economics and media psychology
  • Relevant knowledge in the field of market research and target group analysis
  • Fashion design and production
  • Project study to deepen practical knowledge
  • Methodological foundations of scientific work
  • Training of personal and social competences

Practical orientation & international scope

The practical focus comes to the fore in the project study phase, when students gain their own experience directly in companies during an internship of several weeks and subsequently present these insights. The BSP Career Center plays an important role here, acting as a mediator between students and various national and international companies.

International scope is a particularly important aspect of the educational programme at BSP. For instance, the International Office draws upon partnerships with various renowned international universities such as the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and students also have the opportunity to complete an internship abroad. In addition there are special extra-curricular projects such as international professional workshops and public events with fashion shows and cultural performances.
