Accreditation and Reaccreditation of the Study Programs
All study programs at the BSP have been successfully accredited by the accreditation agency AHPGS, or are currently in the accreditation process. This certifies the excellent quality of our study programs. In addition, your degree is not only recognized by the state, but also internationally.
Accreditation as a structured procedure that creates commitment on the part of the university to the quality of a study program is, along with state recognition, one of the most important steps in the introduction of a new study program: It ensures the quality and framework conditions of the study program as well as its international comparability. In Germany, accreditations are carried out by recognized agencies. For this purpose, the Accreditation Council was established, which may authorize agencies for assessment or accreditation. The BSP has chosen the AHPGS, an accreditation agency for study programs in the field of health and social affairs based in Freiburg.
The AHPGS carries out so-called program accreditations at the BSP. This procedure verifies,
- that the offered study contents are relevant to the labor market, can be studied and are of an appropriate level,
- whether the university can offer the necessary human, spatial and material resources to ensure adequate quality for teaching and research
- whether the study programs are transparent and permeable for interested parties from different disciplines and qualifications.
The accreditation of a study program is always limited to a period of five years. Subsequently, the study program is reassessed in a further procedure and reaccredited for up to seven years.
In the re-accreditation process, the experiences from the previous years of study are compared with the goals, plans and expectations from the accreditation. In other words, it is examined,
- whether the defined qualification goals and the quality level of the study program have been achieved,
- whether its studyability has been proven with regard to organization and implementation,
- whether it has been further developed with regard to quality management and quality assurance, and
- whether all current legal regulations (e.g. of the Accreditation Council) as well as any legal bases that may have changed since the previous accreditation have been complied with and taken into account.

University Law Program
Concept Review Procedure by the German Council of Science and Humanities
The program concept for the BSP's University Law Program and the establishment of the Law Program at the University Law Faculty successfully passed a concept review procedure before the Accreditation Committee.
Professional Accreditation and Seal of the Accreditation Council
The university study program in Law is subject to the requirements of the nationally uniform Legal Training and Examination Ordinance and concludes with the First and Second State Law Examinations as external examinations. A separate professional accreditation of state examination programs for the award of the quality seal of the Accreditation Council is not provided for by law. The professional accreditation only includes the tiered study programs - Bachelor and Master. Against this background, there is also no certificate for the university law program on the homepage as there is for the Bachelor's and Master's programs. Nevertheless, the BSP has successfully undergone a professional accreditation of the university study program in law and has thus met the quality requirements and successfully proven its quality.
The Bachelor of Law program Bachelor of Law is obtained as the first academic degree after achieving 180 CP in the university program of Law. The Accreditation Commission of the AHPGS accredited the University Bachelor of Law program at its meeting on May 20, 2021. The accreditation certificate and the seal of the Accreditation Council are awarded to the Bachelor of Law program.
By decision of 03.09.2021, the Governing Mayor of Berlin, Senate Chancellery - Science and Research, approves the establishment of the university degree program in Law with the final goal of the first law examination. The state recognition of the BSP is extended accordingly.
The master's program Digital Management for Legal & Compliance (M.Sc.), which can be acquired as a third academic degree after successful completion of the bachelor's degree, was also successfully accredited.
